Over $11M in Transportation Projects Awarded to Northeast Region

On December 1st, The Georgia Department of Transportation officially awarded five transportation project contracts representing a total investment of $11,044,157.81 for infrastructure in Northeast Georgia.

A roundabout project in Dawson county was awarded to Baldwin Paving of Marietta, Georgia. This project is located on State Route 52 at State Route 183 and will improve safety and operation at this intersection. The project's scheduled completion is Spring of 2020.

Safety is also going to be enhanced with a cable barrier installation project in Oconee and Clarke counties along State Route 10 loop.
Massana Construction, Inc. of Tyrone, Georgia will complete this project by the end of August 2018. 

Resurfacing projects in Hall and Forsyth counties make up more than half of the $11 million in contracts awarded. 

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. of Marietta, Georgia was awarded the following resurfacing projects with scheduled completion dates in October of 2018.

  • State Route 323 at State Route 11/ US 129,  project length is 7.885 miles  

  • State Route 369  from the Forsyth county line to State Route 53, project length is 4.196 miles 

  •  State Route 20 from the Cherokee county line to south of Samaritan Drive in Forsyth County, project length is 8 miles
