Georgia Power Employees in Gainesville support Boys and Girls Club’s Rubber Duck Derby

Friday, April 30th, 2021

Georgia Power employees are continuing to make a difference in the community through in-person and virtual service projects, fundraisers, and donations.

Recently, employees from Gainesville presented a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Lanier in sponsorship of their annual “Rubber Duck Derby” event. Every year, the community rallies in support of the club by adopting rubber ducks to open the door to a great future for children. Each duck helps to provide thousands of children with a safe, positive and engaging environment and programs that prepare them to succeed in school and in life.

With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power - the employee volunteer arm of the company – gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
