HALLCO Community Credit Union – a community-based financial institution serving members in Hall, Dawson, Lumpkin and White Counties – is proud to announce the addition of Lorie McGovern to its ranks in the role of Executive Vice President. McGovern will assume the position currently held by Sherry Hutchison, who has been with HALLCO since November 2000. Hutchison is set to retire in December 2018, giving her ample time to work in tandem with McGovern and HALLCO CEO, Joe Foster, to determine the best ways to serve their members going forward in the credit union’s all-important mission of Helping People Afford Life.

“Sherry has been an amazing asset to the HALLCO team for nearly two decades,” said Foster. “While we’re sad to see her go, we wish her the very best in her retirement. Lorie brings with her an impressive history and unique blend of financial services and strategic marketing expertise. I have no doubt that she will do great things for our organization and our members.”

Outgoing EVP, Sherry Hutchison has been in the credit union industry since 1989. Since joining HALLCO in 2000, she served in the positions of Chief Lending Officer and Chief Operations Officer before landing the role of Executive Vice President. During her career, she was an active member and held an office with Northeast Georgia Chapter of Credit Unions for a number of years.  Incoming EVP and industry veteran, Lorie McGovern began her career with the CIT Group as a Commercial Loan Processor. Her career also includes turns as Account Supervisor with GE Capital and Senior Marketing Analyst with Pulte Homes. No stranger to a leadership role, McGovern also served as Marketing Director and later as President & CEO of Habersham Federal Credit Union. During her six-year tenure at the helm at Habersham, the organization doubled its loan portfolio and asset size, expanded product and service offerings, opened additional branches, and implemented new technologies. She currently serves on the Small Credit Union Advisory Committee and the Northeast Georgia Chapter of Credit Unions’ Board, as well as on the CTAE Advisory Council for Habersham Central High School and the Advisory Committee for Mountain Education Charter High School. McGovern holds her bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and is a graduate of the Southeast Region Credit Union School at the University of Georgia. When not hard at work serving HALLCO members, McGovern enjoys spending time with family, including her husband, quadruplets, two dogs and a cat.
