Construction activity for the I-85 Widening project will require lane closures next week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.
 
Beginning Monday night, asphalt paving and bridge work on I-85 will necessitate single-lane closures in both directions between Liberty Church Road (Jesse Cronic Road) in Barrow County and SR 53 in Jackson County. Single-lane closures will also be utilized along I-85 northbound between Hamilton Mill Road and Spout Springs Road, and southbound from Flowery Branch Road to Spout Springs Road in Gwinnett County.
 
All scheduled work will occur nightly from Monday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Friday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday, and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday.
 
Traffic pacing activity will also occur in each direction from Monday through Saturday night. Pacing activities will extend northbound from Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County to SR 53 in Barrow County and southbound from SR 53 in Barrow County to Spout Springs Road in Gwinnett County. Pacing will begin at 9 p.m. nightly and continue until 5 a.m. each morning.
