Two Transportation Projects Awarded to the Northeast Region in January

The Georgia DOT awarded two transportation projects across the Northeast Region in January that totaled just over $12 million.

The resurfacing of the State Route 10 (SR 10) loop in Clarke County was the largest project awarded in January.

The maintenance project represents a $10.8 million investment in Clarke County and was awarded to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc.

The project will begin just north of the Milledge Avenue Bridge and extends south of US 78/SR 10. Crews will perform milling, inlay, and plant mix resurfacing across approximately 12 miles of the corridor. This project has an estimated completion date of December 2020.

The resurfacing of State Route 385 (SR 385) in Habersham County was the second project awarded in January.

The maintenance project was awarded to Pittman Construction Company and represented a $1.3 million transportation investment.

The project will begin just north of SR 17 and extend north of SR 15. Crews will perform plant mix resurfacing and shoulder rehabilitation across approximately 5.4 miles of the corridor. The project has an estimated completion date of December 2020.
