Spherion Staffing and Recruiting in Northeast Georgia Welcomes New Ownership
Thursday, November 14th, 2024
Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) announced today new leadership for its Northeast Georgia office, situated in Gainesville at 200 Prior Street Southeast. Seasoned recruiters and experienced franchise business owners Darin and Gina Workman have purchased the office from its previous owner, Stacey Reece.
“We’re thrilled to carry on the legacy that Stacey established,” said Gina Workman. “With our combined experience in recruiting, human resources and business ownership, we’re ready to continue to build upon Stacey’s work and grow our service offerings to meet the needs of the Northeast Georgia workforce spanning from Rabun Gap to Athens and Gainesville to Toccoa.”
The Workmans bring a wealth of experience to Spherion. Darin has a background in recruiting for the U.S. Navy and a long tenure in business management, having previously owned and operated a chain of Ace Hardware stores with Gina. Gina, who also has experience as a previous vice president of human resources, brings extensive expertise in recruiting, employee relations and organizational management. Together, they will lead the Northeast Georgia team with Darin focusing on sales and client engagement, while Gina manages human resources and operations.
Both Darin and Gina are military veterans, and as a veteran-owned business, they plan to expand Spherion’s support for veterans in the region by establishing connections with local veteran organizations and associations.
Reece, who has successfully operated the office for almost 30 years, is consulting alongside the Workmans to ensure a smooth transition for clients and the Spherion team.
“Gina and Darin’s shared commitment to community, coupled with their business acumen and genuine desire to help others, makes them an excellent fit to take the Northeast Georgia office into the next chapter of its growth,” said Reece. “I’m proudly passing the baton to them and can’t wait to follow along and continue to support their journey.”
The Workmans are already deeply rooted in the community. They actively participate in their local chambers of commerce, the Optimist Club, and state and district chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). They’ll continue to build upon their community involvement by participating in Spherion’s annual Community Giveback Program, which has donated more than $1 million to nonprofits since 2014, to further support initiatives that drive positive change in the region.
Each Spherion office enriches its community by connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day—and when successful, the office and its investments flow back into the neighborhoods it serves. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.
