Dale Cardwell: Why the Fostering Success Act Is an Investment in Georgia’s Youth—and Its Future
Tuesday, May 6th, 2025
Dale Cardwell, consumer advocate and founder of TrustDale.com, is calling on Georgia business leaders to seize a unique opportunity to change lives, without spending a dime. In his video message, Cardwell spotlights the power of the Fostering Success Act. This state tax credit program allows individuals and businesses to redirect their Georgia tax dollars to support youth aging out of foster care to continue their education at no cost.
Each year, approximately 700 foster youth age out of the system in Georgia, many at risk of homelessness, unemployment, and mental health challenges.
“Imagine being 18 years old and being completely on your own,” Cardwell says, “they have to figure out everything alone.”
FSA helps fill the gap, funding housing, education, transportation, and counseling services at no additional cost to taxpayers.
For Cardwell, the Fostering Success Act is more than charity—it’s smart public policy. “Every dollar goes exactly where it’s needed, instead of disappearing into the state budget,” he says. “These people are hard working and full of potential, and they could be your next amazing new hire.”
