The first meeting of the Senate Study Committee on Barriers to Georgians’ Access to Adequate Healthcare will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in room 450 of the Georgia State Capitol.

Senate Resolution 188, sponsored by Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford), creates the Senate Study Committee on Barriers to Georgians’ Access to Adequate Healthcare. Sen. Unterman will serve as chair of the nine member study committee. Members of the committee will review current primary health care needs and mental health care needs of Georgia’s citizens. The committee will also analyze current Georgia laws and regulations relating to access to adequate healthcare and determine what actions need to be taken to improve the health care system throughout the state. The study committee is responsible for submitting a report of findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, by December 1, 2017.
