Attorney General Chris Carr Announces Support from Georgia Congressional Leaders
Tuesday, December 12th, 2017
Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr today announced endorsements from current and former members of Congress from across the state of Georgia in his 2018 election campaign.
"I'm honored to have earned the trust and support of so many Georgia leaders for my campaign," said Carr. "These members of Congress have been on the front lines looking out for the best interests of Georgians for years, and I look forward to many more years of continued work together."
Carr has worked professionally with the members of the current and former congressional delegation not only through his position as Georgia's Attorney General, but also through his experience as a conservative policy leader at the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, as commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development and as chief of staff to U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., where he solidified his credentials as a champion of liberty, lower taxes, the rule of law and strong national security.
"Leadership of the kind Chris Carr is delivering to Georgia gives me hope that we can continue to build on America’s strong legacy of statesmanship and selfless service to others," said U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga. "I know I would not be where I am today if it weren't for Chris Carr. Chris has had a positive influence on his state and his country for many years."
After just one year as Attorney General, Carr is already making a lasting impact on our state. By applying his results-oriented style of public policy in the Attorney General's office, Carr's work to eradicate human trafficking, combat opioid abuse and protect older and at-risk adults is generating real results.
"Chris Carr's dedication to Georgia has been evident throughout his career in public service," said U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga.-09. "As a fellow attorney, Chris has earned my support with his hard work as Attorney General, and I look forward to supporting him during his campaign."
Today's announcement is the first major roll-out of endorsements for Carr's campaign. The full list is below.
