Georgia Chamber of Commerce Issues Its Statewide Candidate Assessment

As the Chamber’s official statewide prosperity agenda, the “8 for 18” priorities addresses eight of the state’s most pressing economic issues. The initiative proposes areas of focus to improve the quality of life and business climate across the state. Additionally, it serves as a legislative strategy to advance economic prosperity and inform political candidates on issues of importance to Georgia’s business community.
In anticipation of the upcoming elections, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce issued its eight-question Statewide Candidate Assessment to Gubernatorial and Lieutenant Governor candidates. Participating candidates’ responses to the Chamber’s 8 priorities are now available on the website at www.8for18.com.
The Georgia Chamber’s “8 for 18” priorities are as follows:
Prioritize the immediate improvement of Georgia’s legal and business climate
Build and maintain a modern infrastructure system
Bolster economic mobility & diverse, thriving communities
Develop Georgia as a talent epicenter and grow a diverse and highly skilled workforce
Enhance Georgia’s international standing as a hub for global commerce and agriculture
Ensure all Georgia communities have access to quality healthcare
Commit to creating and implementing a plan for a rural renaissance
Support Georgia’s creative economy for startup innovation and small business success
