George Hartwig, Board of Public Safety
Hartwig is the district attorney for Houston County. He has previous experience as a law enforcement officer in Florida. Hartwig is a member of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Council, the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice Reform and Deal’s Law Enforcement Task Force. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida and a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Hartwig and his wife, Margaret, have two children and reside in Centerville.

Andrew Garner, Georgia Circuit Public Defender Supervisory Council (reappointment)
Garner is a partner at McRae, Smith, Peek, Harman & Monroe, LLP. He is the vice chair of the Rome Floyd Chamber and the chairman of the Floyd County Republican Party. Garner earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He serves as a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Rome and teaches Sunday school. Garner resides in Rome.

Rep. Brian Strickland, Georgia Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Advisory Commission (reappointment)
Strickland represents the 17th District in the Georgia State Senate and previously represented the 111th District in the Georgia House of Representatives. He is a partner at Smith, Welch, Webb & White in McDonough. Strickland earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Valdosta State University and a law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. He and his wife, Lindsay, have one child and live in McDonough.

Tabia Henry Akintobi, Ph.D., M.P.H., Georgia SHAPE Council
Akintobi is an associate professor of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, the associate dean of Community Engagement and the Director of Evaluation and Institutional Assessment at the Morehouse School of Medicine. She is also the principal investigator and director of the Prevention Research Center at the Morehouse School of Medicine. Akintobi is the director of Community Engagement for the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance and a co-lead for the Georgia Center for Diabetes Translation Research. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Miami, as well as a master’s degree in Maternal and Child Health and a doctoral degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida. Akintobi and her husband, Adebayo, have two children and live in Mableton.

Amy Kelley, Board of Economic Development, 14th Congressional District
Kelly and her husband own TAK Homes, LLC, a real estate investment company. She is a member of the Cedartown Junior Service League. Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Shorter College. She and her husband, Trey, attend the First Baptist Church of Cedartown and reside in Cedartown.

Scott Hollowell, Professional Standards Commission
Hollowell represents District 3 on the Fayette County Board of Education. He is the owner of Hollowell Financial Group, a financial planning firm in Peachtree City. Hollowell is a member of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. He sat on the boards of directors for Advo-Kids CASA and Friends of the Tyrone Library. Hollowell earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Ohio University and a master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He has two children and resides in Peachtree City.

Amy Auffant, State Personnel Board
Auffant is the senior employment counsel at National Vision, Inc. She was previously a partner at Elarbee, Thompson, Sapp & Wilson, LLP. Auffant also speaks and provides training on issues in the workplace. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Society for Human Resource Management. Auffant was named a “Georgia Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Stetson University and a law degree from Emory University. She and her husband, Tony, have three children and reside in Alpharetta.
