Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, June 25th, 2018

On June 20th Governor Nathan Deal presented the “Buy from Georgia Month” proclamation to the members of the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance and manufacturing leaders from across the state. This was the 5th year that the Governor has presented this proclamation at the Georgia State Capitol to promote manufacturers and the goods they produce in Georgia.

“This event encourages our business community to come together to rally around two simple but powerful ideas,” said Jason Moss, CEO of the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance. “It raises awareness of goods manufactured in our state and shows consumers how they can play an active role in supporting local jobs by purchasing items that are made locally.”

Studies show that the average consumer cannot name three things that are made in their state. The Georgia Manufacturing Alliance has developed a tool that helps connect the general consumer to products manufactured in Georgia. The http://www.BuyFromGA.com website features 100s of items that are manufactured in Georgia that consumers can purchase using their Amazon account.

“Over 440,000 people are employed in the 10,000 manufacturing facilities in Georgia,” continued Moss. “Thousands of jobs are directly impacted as a result of educating consumers about the importance of buying Georgia made products. The Buy From Georgia initiative is critical to the economic vitality of our state, and we will be touring some of the factories that have products listed on the BuyFromGa website.”

Jason Moss and his team will be traveling across the state to highlight name brands that people may see in the store each day and not be aware that these products are supporting Georgia’s economy. A KIA Sorento was donated from Columbus KIA Motorsports as the official tour vehicle and was specially wrapped with the BuyFromGA.com theme to help promote Georgia Made Products.
