Junior Achievement of Georgia announced it has tapped Camille Russo to serve as its executive director of statewide development. In that role, she will lead development efforts to secure major corporate and individual investments, manage special events and annual giving, and coordinate donor stewardship for the organization outside of metro-Atlanta, including Dalton, Gainesville, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah.

“We are so pleased to welcome Camille to the JA family,” said Randy Shearouse, chairman of Junior Achievement of Savannah. “Her expertise in fundraising, marketing and brand development will ensure Junior Achievement of Georgia expands its market size and continues as one of the area’s strongest and most impactful nonprofits.”

Prior to joining JA, Russo worked as an associate vice president of development and marketing at THA Group, a regional home health care and home hospice company specializing in technology and telehealth. She also worked at Alta Innovations, a startup medical company, as CFO and partner, and at AT&T/Bellsouth as a regional director.

Russo, who earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Georgia and an M.B.A. in management from Georgia State University, is the past president of Junior Achievement of Savannah’s Board of Directors. A graduate of both Leadership Savannah and Leadership Georgia, she has also served as president of the Rotary Club of Savannah, campaign chairman for the United Way campaign, and on the University of Georgia Terry College of Business Alumni Board.

“I have been involved with Junior Achievement for 15 years as a volunteer, so I am especially thrilled to be given this opportunity to help lead the growth of this important organization,” Russo said. “I look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of students in the coastal region and throughout Georgia.”
