Secretary of State’s Office: June 30th Renewal Deadline Approaching for Seven Professional Licenses
Wednesday, June 27th, 2018
There are over 39,570 individuals and businesses in seven license groups up for professional license renewal with the Secretary of State’s office before June 30th, 2018. Athletic trainers, electrical contractors, general contractors, land surveyor firms, librarians, professional engineering firms, and residential contractors are encouraged to renew their licenses quickly and easily via online portals to avoid possible late fees or lapse.
“For almost eight years now as Secretary of State, my goal has been to remove bureaucratic barriers and get out of the way of hardworking Georgians,” explained Secretary Kemp. “I encourage all the men and women licensed by our office to renew their licenses using our online renewal process as soon as possible. It has never been easier, and we are processing renewals at record speed.”
Visit the Professional Licensing Board’s website by the expiration date to complete the online renewal process. Consult the office’s step-by-step instructions for assistance. Once you have submitted payment and verified renewal, you can print your payment receipt and professional license. Please remember to submit continuing education documents if you have been selected for an audit.
Late fees are assessed if license holder fails to renew before the deadline. Georgia law prohibits professional license holders from practicing without a license, which includes an expired license. After the late renewal period, licenses that have not been renewed will lapse, at which time license holders must apply for reinstatement and meet all application requirements. Reinstatement of any license is at the discretion of the board.
