U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., issued the following statement after meeting with Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to serve as the next U.S. Supreme Court justice:
 
“My meeting today with Judge Kavanaugh confirmed what constitutional experts, legal scholars and his own clerks have said: He is eminently well-qualified to serve on the Supreme Court and has a strong commitment to our Constitution and the rule of law. Judge Kavanaugh has a strong record of applying the law as it is written without regard to his personal views, which is exactly what a judge should do. I look forward to his testimony before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.”
 
Isakson attended a formal nomination ceremony for Kavanaugh at the White House on July 9.
