The Georgia Department of Transportation is proud to announce the selection of Brandon Kirby as the new District One Engineer.  

Kirby, who has served dual roles as Assistant District Engineer and the head of preconstruction unit takes the place of retiring Brent Cook.
 
Kirby will be taking the helm of the 21 county district that occupies the northeast Georgia region. He will oversee all the Department’s programs, projects, and activities in the area and will work to build partnerships with local and state lawmakers, chambers of commerce, business leaders, and the public in the region.  

With a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, Kirby began his career with the Georgia Department of Transportation in 1996. His broad experience of more than 22 years with GDOT includes progressing through various leadership titles in the District, as well as in the General Office. He has held positions of Area Engineer, Assistant District Construction Engineer, Legislative Liaison, and Assistant State Program Delivery Administrator.

Brandon is native to the northeast Georgia region and lives in Hall County. 
 
GDOT District One office is located in Gainesville on Jesse Jewell Parkway, but the department also maintains Area Offices in Gainesville, Athens, Carnesville, as well as Cleveland.
