Kennedy Atkins, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and graduate of Samford University, has joined the Georgia Public Policy Foundation as a Development Associate.
Atkins graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in French. His internships included stints at the Alabama Policy Institute (a sister think tank to the Georgia Public Policy Foundation), with Alabama State Rep. Jack Williams, and with DirectPath, which helps employees manage their health care benefits, before his December 2018 graduation. He also worked as a venue manager for a catering company.
Atkins will assist Foundation President Kyle Wingfield with donor relations and outreach.
“We’re pleased to be able to add an enthusiastic new staff member with a history of ‘customer’ relations to focus on enhancing our member experience and expanding the support base for the marketplace of free-market ideas,” said Wingfield.
“Kennedy’s ability to build relationships ranging from constituents to donors and satisfied customers, along with his organizational skills, will serve the Foundation well as we continue our outreach across the state.”
Atkins, who credits his internship at the Alabama Policy Institute with warming him to the public policy world, said he looks forward to assisting the Foundation president, meeting donors, and cultivating the relationships that will help the Foundation grow and prosper.
