After an extensive national search and interview process, Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) has appointed Andrei Boyarshinov as its new chief legal officer and vice president of Legal Affairs.
“Andrei comes to NGHS with a comprehensive understanding and depth of expertise in legal strategy,” said Carol Burrell, president and CEO of NGHS. “It’s this expertise that has equipped him well to serve our community and immediately contribute to our mission to improve the health of our community in all we do.”
Boyarshinov received his juris doctorate (JD) from the University of Florida and is board-certified in health law and healthcare compliance.
Boyarshinov is responsible for integrating legal strategy throughout the health system’s operations, working in concert with multiple groups including physician leadership, administration and outside counsel teams to assure regulatory compliance and provide legal expertise.
“I’m honored to join NGHS and I look forward to working proactively with this excellent executive team and physician leadership while further developing the legal department,” said Boyarshinov. “My wife and children are so excited to be part of the North Hall community, where we already feel at home.”
Most recently, Boyarshinov served as deputy general counsel at UF Health, a $3.4 billion health system in Florida. He was also responsible for providing legal oversight to two academic medical centers in Jacksonville and Gainesville, Fla., including multiple hospitals and more than 1,500 physicians.
