Mayor Vince Williams Elected National League of Cities’ 2nd Vice President

Vince Williams, current mayor of Union City and first Vice President at GMA, was elected to the position of Second Vice President of the National League of Cities (NLC) during the League’s City Summit on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
Regarding Williams’ new role, GMA Executive Director Larry Hanson said:
Williams first joined Union City’s City Council in 2007 and was elected mayor in 2013. He became GMA’s First Vice President at the annual convention this past June.
In a note to GMA leadership, Williams expressed excitement and gratitude for his new role, saying:
Mayor Williams' passion, dedication, thoughtful leadership and commitment to cooperation and consensus building have resulted in him being recognized both locally and nationally for his achievements. He has been honored by Gov. Nathan Deal, received the Outstanding Citizen Award from the U.S. Secretary of State, and in 2017 was given the President’s Volunteer Service Award by President Barack Obama.
