Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Northern Hall County will have greater access to care very soon as Northeast Georgia Health System’s (NGHS) Medical Plaza 1 is nearing completion on Thompson Bridge Road. NGHS gathered with board members, community leaders, physicians, management and staff for a topping out ceremony to celebrate the medical plaza’s progress on Feb. 29.

“This building is coming together fast, as the framing is nearly complete and the roof is going up soon,” said Daniel Tuffy, president and chief administrative officer for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG). “Apartments, a storage facility and a grocery store are just a few of the changes coming soon to this landscape on Thompson Bridge Road, and we’re proud to be a part of that growth.”

Medical Plaza 1 is the first development in what will be called Thompson Bridge Medical Park. The new medical plaza is a 14,000-square-foot, $10.5 million building set to open in September. NGPG Thompson Bridge – a primary care office just four miles away – will move to Medical Plaza 1 from its current location, but still provide the same family medicine and weight loss services, while adding gynecology, behavioral health and lab services.

“I know one thing for sure – this building is much needed here in northern Hall County, and I’m thankful for NGHS’ commitment to serve this area as it grows,” said Katie Dudas, MD, a longtime physician at NGPG Thompson Bridge. “I’m excited that our family medicine practice will be moving to this building, which will offer newer, larger space to accommodate the community’s growing need for primary care.”
