Former Rep. Clay Cox: Open Enrollment for State Health Benefit Plan
Monday, November 4th, 2024
For those of us eligible for the State Health Benefit Plan in Georgia, we are in an especially important period because it is currently Open Enrollment for the 2025 Plan Year. Open Enrollment gives individuals the opportunity to enroll in coverage if you are new to the State Health Benefit Plan. If you are already enrolled, you can review your current Plan Options and make changes to your coverage based on your needs. Now is the time to do our homework and decide what is best for ourselves and our families.
Open enrollment starts on Tuesday, October 15, at midnight, through Friday, November 8, at 11:59 pm, you will have the opportunity to enroll in a Plan Option that best fits your needs and those in your family. The plan covers the following individuals: State Employees, Teachers, Public School Employees, Members of the General Assembly, Former Employees with at least eight years of service, Eligible Dependents and Employees of other entities prescribed by State law. I give our State leaders in the General Assembly and Governor Kemp for ensuring that Georgia’s vital labor source has healthcare options they deserve.
For my family, we’ve done our research and based on our experience, Anthem is the choice that best addresses our health needs while protecting our financial well-being. They’ve been there for us. Our doctors and healthcare providers are all in their network, our prescriptions covered, and the customer service has been helpful and accessible.
During this important period, make sure you're making a decision that is best for you and your family. Thank you to all of our current educators and state employees that make Georgia a wonderful place to live a raise a family!
Clay Cox, Former State Representative (R-108) House Chief Deputy Whip, Chairman of the House Human Relations and Aging Committee. Cox served as Vice Chairman on the State Board of Community Health.
