Georgia Ports Reports Auto Manufacturers Have Reduced Production & Shipments Of Some Vehicles To U.S.

The Georgia Ports Authority reported the Port of Savannah handled 486,000 twenty-foot equivalent units in September. Still, they said that auto manufacturers have reduced production and shipment of some vehicles to the U.S. as they consider changes to manufacturing locations and target markets.

They said in a press release last week that luxury vehicle exports to Asia are also down, related to stiffer competition from domestic Asian auto manufacturers.
